TV One Hosted The Red Carpet Premiere

Of Their New Movie “Media.”

   

 

TV One held a fabulous premiere of their new movie “Media” at the beautiful Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles. The film is a forerunner to the upcoming TV series by the same name. 

  

Jones family matriarch Jackie (Penny Johnson Jerald) hosting a party

      Media is about the wealthy and powerful Jones family headed by matriarch Jackie Jones. They own and operate JUMP (Jones Universal Media Properties), a dynasty that has dominated the national urban media scene for years. The Joneses have engaged in affairs, conspiracies, backdoor deals, fierce rivalries and even murder to stop anybody or any company from bringing them down or tearing them apart.

  The cast includes: Penny Johnson Jerald (Jackie Jones); Brian White (Michael Jones); Pooch Hall (Clay Jones); Gary Dourdan (Jabbar); Chrystee Pharris (Crystal Jones); Blue Kimble (Anthony Jones); Stephen Bishop (Willis Randolph); Denise Boutte (Danielle Jones); Stelio Savante (Harold Boston); Finesse Mitchell (DJ Drive); Jillian Reeves (Gisele); Jimmy Gonzales (Silvan Testa) and Diane Kirby (Steph).

   According to Radio/TV One Founder/CEO/Chairperson Cathy Hughes, this project was eight years into the making. Hughes assembled a top notch executive production team consisting of Susan Banks, Kevin Arkadie and Sheila Ducksworth whose Ducksworth Production Company produced the project.

    

Family power broker Michael Jones (Brian White) orders a hit

While battling to maintain the top urban position in the dog eat dog world of the communications industry, the Jones family finds themselves in a peculiar position following a family tragedy. Being no stranger to using politics, passion, greed, deception, under-the-table dealings and anything else to succeed, Jackie’s son Michael who is a prominent lead attorney and prosecutor, is forced to abandon his political aspirations and take over the company at the same time Jabbar Randolph, a ruthless, rival adversary who owns and operates JUMP’s ace rival company, has been released from prison.

  

No nonsense Jabbar (Gary Dourdan) is back to win

 
   Michael must deal with the sins of his past as the skeletons fall out of his closet to create major problems to cloud his future. Meanwhile as Jabbar retakes control of his company. He is hell bent on a headstrong, set mission of revenge, portrayal, deceit and head gaming to take down JUMP and put his own company on top.

    A proud Hughes beams, “My entire life has been dedicated to creating media outlets to entertain and inspire our community. We know our audience loves drama and that’s what MEDIA is all about.”  The film was shot in Atlanta, Georgia.
