2017 YWCA Phenomenal Woman Awards Luncheon - Charity Event
The beautiful Omni Hotel in downtown LA was the site of the YMCA’s 2017 Annual “Phenomenal Women Awards Luncheon.” Of course, there was a fabulous, press laden red carpet to greet celebrity arrivals which included Hollywood royalty, business execs and political dignitaries from local, State and National levels. A social mixer and reception followed then it was on to the main ballroom for lunch and the ceremonies.
This year’s four honorees included departing Los Angeles Philharmonic President and CEO Deborah Borda, LA Lakers Youth Foundation Exec Director Kiesha Nix, LA Unified School District Superintendent Michelle King and CBS2 News Anchor Pat Harvey who was presented the inaugural Bonnie Tiegel Angel Award by TV Host icon Mary Hart.
In lieu
of a keynote speaker, a keynote seminar was held with the four honorees
moderated by Fox 11 co-anchor Christine Devine. YMCA Greater Los
Angeles President and CEO Faye Washington oversaw the event
which was co-chaired by three previous Phenomenal Women awardees; Supermodel,
lifestyle designer and YMCA Greater Los Angeles Ambassador Kathy Ireland; the
organization’s Advisory Commissioner, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and
Sciences President Cheryl Boone Isaacs and Lisa Paulsen, founding President and
CEO of the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) and its vast philanthropies.
The YWCA was founded in 1894. The Greater Los Angeles YWCA services the various needs of the metro Los Angeles area.
