Diamond White
Young, Sexy, Smart and Determined To Make It!

Ever since she was a young child growing up on the West side of her native Detroit, showbusiness has been her calling. Diamond White began early in life perusing a music and acting career. Her mom made many sacrifices for her daughter’s dreams by seeing that she got to auditions even if it meant going out of town. At age 8 White joined the cast of the Chicago stage production of “The Color Purple.” She then toured with the production nationally.

At age 13 in 2012, White placed 5th overall on X Factor. She was the voice for characters in Transformers; Rescue Bots and for Phineas & Ferb for Disney. White’s latest role is that of the hard headed, misfit brad Tiffany in Tyler Perry’s “Boo, A Medea Halloween.” Every actor who has worked for Perry are astonished at his speed and methods for shooting. What was White’s experience? She laughs, “You certainly can’t compare him with anyone else because he has his own unique formula and the way that he does things that’s so unique to his style. Just the quickness and how he keeps everything fast. He’s super professional. The whole set felt like a family.”

What was it like learning her lines at that speed? White explains, “Well, the good thing I think about working with Tyler is a lot of it is improvised. You are supposed to know your lines and everything but when it comes down to it, we only did one take as it is written. For the rest it was like, now we have that take we can say the guttural kinds of things and see what comes out of it.”

The movie was shot in Atlanta and actress was amazed at the size of the new Tyler Perry Studios which is 330 acers. Perry purchased entire neighborhoods and preserved everything in them i.e., banks, houses, neighborhood stores, pools, land, everything you could think of. The neighborhood where the movie was shot was the first time it had been used.

Being that she was in party town Atlanta, did she get to step out? White laughs, “We had one off day and honestly I just slept.” How did booking the project go? White runs it down, “I auditioned. I went in they gave me an untitled script. They didn’t tell me it was a Tyler Perry project. It was just a scene between me and my best friend. I walked in, did it, wrapped. It was the quickest audition ever. I didn’t think I was going to book it because I looked at everyone that was in the room with me and I recognized so many people and I was like yeah, no this isn’t it. Thought I’m going to be done with that then I got a called that I booked the project. Then they told me it was a Tyler Perry movie.” The project is currently available on DVD.
