Say what you will about gays, drag and the whole nine; it is a lifestyle that is going nowhere and is here to stay. So, for many of you – deal with it! You don’t have to agree but recognize. It is what it is but it should not be not be taught, coerced or forced on anyone or any part of society who does not want to participate. On the other hand, let those who will, exercise their calling without prejudice, harm and social disruption.
The atmosphere was highly charged with the searing electricity of excitement, comradery, flirting, comparing notes, making new contacts and networking. Of course, the competition was fierce to see who could out do whom with the most outrageous costume and concepts, make-up, hair, shoes, heels, boots, wigs, glitter, boas, tattoos, body paint, accessories and overall decorum.
Drag Con is a mass, non-stop party with music, food, workshops and panels with guest celebs and experts on topics that you want to discuss no holds barred. The convention floor layout included information tables, exhibitor booths with every imaginal product necessary to be absolutely fabulous, available under the sun. We are talking clothes from the chic sexy to the most mind blowing outrageous in terms of styles and colors.
You could find make-up and hair booths with experts to give you the look of your fantasy and well as accessories out of this world. Health products and everything else in between were also available. Your favorite, famous celeb drag queens from RuPual’s “Drag Race” Las Vegas Showrooms, TV/Movies and nationwide clubs and cabarets had booths where you could take photos with them and buy a headshot for them to autograph.
Because of the plethora of beauty products and aids on hand with the experts to demonstrate and explain them, Drag Con attracts quite a few straight women and some men.
RuPaul and World of Wonder who produces the event staged a New York version of
Drag Con this year as well and will return to the LA Convention Center in 2018.

creator/executive producer and entrepreneur RuPaul has created the largest,
most popular, must attend event in the world for the gay community. RuPaul’s
“Drag Con” has no competition as far as events of its kind. This year’s
2017 Drag Con was a matchless, grand spectacle that drew “Queens” from all over
the world to the LA Convention Center.
